After Freud and Einstein, Martin Buber (1878-1965) was one of the best-known Jews of the 20th century. The emergence of Zionism, Nazism and the creation of the state of Israel were all major influences on the philosopher. He wrote extensively on the question of respect among Arabs and Jews, at the same time warning of the risks that were to be run. He was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize seven times for his tireless promotion and encouragement of reconciliation amongst all peoples and global peace.

His groundbreaking thoughts are all the more powerful in contemporary times as, to a degree, they are premonitory. We can all benefit from the exploration of the paths taken by Martin Buber and this film is a welcome opportunity to do so.
