The Salt Caravans of Danakil
We will journey to the Danakil Basin of northern Ethiopia. It is a region where the equatorial sun and low elevation push the temperature to 145 degrees Fahrenheit. Here in the hottest place on earth, an old caravaneer makes the final journey of his life.

The Winter of Oymyakon, Siberia
We will visit Oymyakon, the coldest region on earth. A foreboding land where countless exiles were sent to die, there is a people who have nevertheless chosen to settle here. We’ll join these people as they hunt, fish and herd reindeer, continuing a way of life that has not changed for a millennium.

The Himalayas, Life on the Edge

We will climb the Nepalese Himalayas and visit Tuman, a village inhabited by the Tamang. Although their main occupation is farming, they collect honey twice a year. Join us as we follow a group of honey hunters as they set out on their epic journey to the Nepalese-Tibetan border in their quest for wild honey.
